Business Owner/Developer

Julie is the founder of Slippers, a creative arts center. This involved renovating an old building on Main Street in Viroqua, Wisconsin; building a dance program, music series, theatre series, events, art gallery, and hall rental business; and marketing the business to build a large customer base in Viroqua, LaCrosse, and surrounding communities. Julie also provided ballroom, Latin, and swing dance lessons as a professional dance teacher. In its first year of business (2004), Slippers was nominated for Wisconsin’s Main Street Business of the Year. Julie was also interviewed several times on the local TV news in the four years she owned the business. After successfully building the arts center, Julie transferred it to the community, and it continues to flourish.
